Samsung LN46A650 LCD 120Hz HDTV

The Samsung 650-Series of LCD televisions include an impressive number of modern video & audio technologies, wrapped up in an HDTV that has tech gearheads abuzz, comparing it vs. some of the top LCD sets available today.

The 46" model in the 650 line-up is the LN46A650 , which delivers full 1080p high-def resolution plus 120Hz video processing, promising video that's as smooth as the picture on virtually any of the sets from leading manufacturers like Sony, Sharp and the rest.

The Auto Motion Plus 120Hz processing, combined with the LN46A650 's speedy 4ms pixel response rate, reportedly vastly reduces lag time, making this a set that, on paper at least, should blow away much of its competition.

Compared with Samsung's earlier 46" model, LNT4671F, the LN46A650 boasts the company's unique "Super Clear" LCD panel, though from all accounts the effect on the 650 series sets is slightly more subdued.

And in contrast vs. the majority of 46" LCD televions sold today, the LN46A650 includes four HDMI connections, supplying you more than enough of the top quality inputs possible for your high-definition video hardware, such as Blu-Ray disc players and game systems like the Playstation 3 and Xbox 360.

Another characteristic that makes the 650 series stand out is Samsung's new "Touch of Color" enhancement of the bezel. Also included on Samsung's latest plasma models, this distinct yet subtly added color is purely for aesthetics, and as such a matter of taste, rather than a significant reason to buy the LN46A650 or not.

Samsung has responded to concerns of early buyers of this and other sets in the Samsung 650-series, complaints of the sets shutting off for no reason. The compnay has issued firmware that reportedly solves the problem, and explains that the new set owner should only download and implement the patch if the problem occurs.
